For a good time, go to West Brookfield on Saturday for the Asparagus Festival

I know this is a Brimfield weekend, but the show goes on for days. The Asparagus Festival is one day a year and it is this Saturday May 16 on the West Brookfield Common, a spot Norman Rockwell should have painted.

There will be music from the eclectic style of Dick Chase. Local violin virtuoso, Samantha Gillogly will also play. Lots of kids' activities are going to be on tap. Of course, Asparagus in all its forms, i.e. as plants or food, will abound. West Brookfield is where asparagus cultivation started in this country. Be a part of history this weekend.

If you want more information, click on the link for the Sturbridge Times Magazine to the right and view page 5 for my article (more shameless self promotion) about the day.
