WORCESTER – The local team behind the upcoming feature film “Snowflake” will be hosting a free screening of their "teaser" trailer at the Mansion House, the Worcester nightclub where most of it was shot, on Saturday, June 6, at 8:30 p.m.

The locations for the two-day shoot on April 24th and 25th included a private home in Weston and the very stage at the Mansion House where the trailer will be screened. “Snowflake” is the story of Jesse Ashton, a 20-year-old white female rapper played by Atlanta actress and break-dancer Katherine “Kat” Slatery and produced by Worcester’s own Goldilocks Productions.

The film follows Snowflake as she tries to transcend barriers of both race and gender while competing in the gritty urban hip-hop scene. The full-length feature is slated to be filmed in the Worcester area this fall. The teaser trailer will be shown at a “Snowflake” party the producers are co-hosting at the American Black Film Festival in Miami next month.

In addition to the Mansion house, a number of Worcester businesses donated goods and services to the cast and crew for the recent trailer shoot including On the Rise Bakery, Jumpin’ Juice & Java, O'Connor’s Restaurant, and Muncheez Pizza.

“Contributions from businesses like these make it possible for independent filmmakers like us to work here in New England,” noted producer Kristen Lucas. “We’re proud to make “Snowflake” a Worcester production and invite people to come down and see the trailer for a preview of what’s to come.”

Among the local filmmakers who worked with Lucas on the “Snowflake” teaser are co-producer Amy Devlin of Goldilocks Productions and music supervisor Keith “Klep” Napier.
